DJI Phantom 3 Professional Review

DJI Phantom 3 Professional is an out-of-the-box ready to fly quadcopter drone that provides a stable and enjoyable flight. The improved design provides extra steadiness during the flight, hence giving a cinematic feel and providing the results of a professional looking aerial drone videography. DJI has managed to come up with regular improvements in its drones to further enhance the experience of the drone flyers. DJI Phantom 3 Professional has surely proved itself to be better than its predecessors in terms of its unique features and easy flight experience. Although DJI has halted Phantom 3 Professional's production altogether since 2016, the firm still offers the customer service option to the phantom drone owners.

The DJI Phantom 3 Professional is, in many aspects, similar to the Phantom 3 Advanced version but the upgraded specifications truly make it stand out. The maximum speed of DJI Phantom 3 Professional is 16 m/s at ATTI mode. Its maximum ascent speed is 5 km and maximum descent speed is 3 km. Also, the maximum attainable angular speed is 150/s.

Body of the drone:

The body structure of DJI Phantom 3 Professional is same as that of the basic design of the phantom drone series. It is comprised of a polycarbonate plastic body along with 4 Z-blade propeller attachment and a landing gear placement. It has 4 sets of efficient engines with tightly bound copper wire design to boost the steadfastness and efficiency of the drone flight. Along with this, the presence of an optical flow sensor at the bottom of the quadcopter recognizes patterns on the ground thus stabilizing it midair without unnecessary swinging. Another improved feature of the DJI Phantom 3 Professional is the fast charging capability of it. It can charge from 0 to 100% in 25-35 minutes due to its 100 Volts charger. This is much efficient charging and is quite beneficial for professionals who do not have much time to waste during continuous shooting.

Remote controller:

The drone remote controller has been revamped to enhance the ease of usage further. Its body has less of a plastic feel to it, and the rubber grips provide an extra support for efficient handling. It has dedicated buttons for capturing photos and shooting video. The remote control also has 2 sets of adjusters, one for adjusting the light exposure while the other is for controlling the movement of the drone gimbal on which camera is mounted. The flight dynamics and stick configuration can be changed according to the need by the piloting application.

Light bridge Technology:

DJI Lightbridge Technology installed in Phantom 3 Professional allows 720 pixels video monitoring capability at 30 frames per second for a range of about 2 km, resulting in a professional and dynamic experience.

Camera:

The camera of DJI Phantom 3 Professional is an improved version of Phantom 3 Advanced. It has a 20 mm standard lens with a focal point of f/2.8. It can shoot 4K videos at maximum rate of 60 frames per second, the results of which are surely impressive. Another main feature of the drone camera is it 94 rotation angle. This reduced movement has significantly minimized barrier distortion of the image (a common problem of fish lenses). It also has a 1/2.3 CMOS sensor with effective pixels of 12 M.
