DJI has always managed to launch the best drones out there whether its regarding the quality, features or the price. DJI Phantom 3 Advanced does not fall short of any of the features expected from it. However, DJI franchise has discontinued the production of most of the Phantom drones including the DJI Phantom 3 Advanced since 2017. DJI has assured its drone purchasers that it still offers support for repairing these phantom drones.

Keeping this matter aside, we were able to lay our hands on DJI Phantom 3 Advanced drone. This drone has many interesting features and offers a professional drone photography experience even to the beginners due to its smooth flight. Our review of DJI Phantom 3 Advanced is mentioned below:

Weight:

The combined weight of the drone along with the battery and propellers is 1280 grams or 1.28 kg.

Speed of the drone:

The maximum attainable speed of DJI Phantom 3 Advanced is 16 m/s with low resistance of wind. Its maximum ascent speed is 5m/s and maximum descent speed is 3 m/s.

Dimensions:

The dimensions of the body of Phantom 3 series are

Measured from above (including propellers): 49 x 49 cm/ 19.3x 19.3 inch

Measured from the side (including propellers): 19.5 cm/ 7.7 inch

Body of the drone:

The DJI Phantom 3 Advanced is composed of a white plastic body with four propellers and a landing gear placement. The drone camera is attached with a 3 axis gimbals and is suspended below the body for minimum disturbance from the propellers. Despite the ultra-smooth and fast flight, the high aircraft noise during the drone flight greatly disappointed us.

The camera of DJI Phantom 3 Advanced is comprised of a effective 12.4 mega pixels lens with a 1/ 2.3� CMOS sensor. The focal length of the lens is 20mm and a f/ 2.8 focus.

Remote Control:

Remote controller of this quadcopter drone has some amazing new features such as playback video option and the ability to fly and land the drone with a simple touch on screen. This ergonomic design lets the operator to adjust flight controls, control the camera gimbal according to the need and adjust the light exposure with simple settings.

Vision Positioning System:

The drone has the capability to combine sonar waves data and visual data for a automated detection of position. This feature allows DJI Phantom 3 Advanced to be suspended in the air with hovering, a feature necessary for professional film shooting.

Home lock Intelligent mode:

It has a built-in return to home function that is accessible for 50 meters and allows the quadcopter to safely return to the home location even when the GPS of the flyer is not working. It can also easily detect the new location of the drone flyer if the GPS is working and return safely to it.

Point of interest Intelligent mode:

It lets the operator to focus on any specific point and shoot the video with the camera facing it at all times, thus circling around the point of interest automatically.

Follow me Intelligent mode:

This mode will identify a specific object and follow it along wherever it is moving. This feature is of interest to sportsperson as the drone camera will focus on them and follow them as they run, walk or swim.

Course Lock Intelligent mode:

This mode aids the operator in setting the controls in accordance with the set route, thus helping in navigation of the drone when moving along scenes or objects in motion
